The Sunset Trail Riders Snowmobile Club recently wrapped up one of its most successful volunteer events of the season, bringing together members, families, and new faces from across the region for a full day of trail preparation and community support. Beginning early in the morning, volunteers gathered at the clubhouse for coffee, instructions, and equipment checks before heading out in small groups to tackle different sections of the trail system. Throughout the day, they worked together to clear fallen branches, repair signage, smooth rough trail surfaces, and prep areas that had been affected by early-season weather. Several volunteers used their own sleds and utility equipment, while others took on roles such as hauling materials, documenting problem areas, or assisting with safety spot checks. The camaraderie among participants was clear—whether it was seasoned riders sharing knowledge with first-timers or families working side by side, the event showcased the strong community spirit that defines the club. By late afternoon, volunteers returned to the clubhouse for a warm meal, where stories from the day were shared and future improvement ideas were discussed. The results of their hard work were immediately noticeable: smoother routes, safer access points, and a renewed sense of pride in the trails that the community depends on each winter. Events like this not only keep the trail network in top shape but also strengthen the relationships that hold the club together.
